The world of plenty is New Babylon, the world in which man no longer toils, but plays; poetry as a way of life for the masses ("la poesie faite par tous et non par un" [poetry made by all and not by just one]). New Babylon, perhaps, is not so much a picture of the future as a leitmotiv, the conception of an all-comprehensive culture that is hard to comprehend because until now it could not exist, a culture that, for the first time in history, as a consequence of the automation of labor, becomes feasible although we do not yet know what shape it will take, and seems mysterious to us. Will man of the future be able to play his life? Will be he able to lead a life without the necessity to earn his daily bread in toil and sweat? The answer to these questions entails the condemnation of a morality that still regards labor that can be performed by a machine as the fulfillment of man's life and promises him [sic] a fictional paradise as a reward after his death.
When one occupies oneself with New Babylon, everything else seems to have become unimportant. Yet the time has not yet come to give a conclusive answer to all the questions that present themselves. This is the dilemma of creative man [sic] today: yesterday's world has come to an end, the world of tomorrow is still dim in outline. By necessity, he continues to be the vague designer, the semi-player. He only suggests whereas he would like to play, he plays whereas he would like to give shape, he outlines only whereas he would like to be precise. But his outlines of the new world to come are important in that at last he deliberately turns away from the utilitarian world in which creativeness was only an escape and a protest, and that he becomes the interpreter of the new man, homo ludens. Zonnige poezie & Dwingende moraal
Hoewel de jaren zeventig werden gedomineerd door moralistische collectivisten (onze overheid - dat dienen we ons ook goed te realiseren - stond toe dat de universiteiten gecollectiviseerd werden door marxistische utopisten die op een dwingende wijze een 'nieuwe morele mens' wilden scheppen) waren er in de zijlijn enkelingen werkzaam die tegenover de dwingende machtsmoraal van de marxisten een 'moraal van het spel' plaatsten, een tamelijk na eve poging de werkelijkheid op een zodanige wijze te interpreteren dat alles wat naar, vervelend en moeizaam is (of kan zijn) uit de belevingswereld van de naar eeuwige zonneschijn verlangende mens verwijderd kan worden. Ook een vorm van utopisch (wereldvreemd) denken dus, maar in ieder geval een liberale denkwijze, die de enkeling als creatief, po tisch wezen erkent en hem in contact brengt met serieuze denkers die het calvinistische utiliteitsdenken ('alles wat niet nuttig is moet verwijderd worden') durven aan te vallen.
Het begrip 'homo ludens' is geen uitvinding van Constant Nieuwenhuis, maar van de uiterst keurige Nederlandse hoogleraar Johan Huizinga, die tegenover de calvinistisch-kapitalistische werkende mens, homo faber (de maker) en de denkende, naar geestelijke bewustwording verlangende mens, homo sapiens, de kinderlijke, relativerende, of 'spelende' mens plaatste, niet gezien als ideaaltype, maar als een poging van zich bevrijdende mensen zich te ontdoen van de als onnodig ervaren zwaarte van het bestaan. Wat Nieuwenhuis tot een nieuwlichter en een utopist maakte was zijn opvatting dat het spelende principe, dat bij Huizinga als het exclusieve bezit van de elite wordt beschouwd, een recht moet worden dat aan elke burger moet worden toegekend, een soort 'gezonken cultuurgoed' dus, dat een einde dient te maken aan de afwentelingpolitiek van een wereld die gewone mensen via de onderwerping aan een geestdodend arbeidsproces ontmenselijken wil: de vernietiging van Jeruzalem dus en een terugkeer naar Babylon, waar een sfeer van po tische losbandigheid bestond, die op felle wijze werd afgewezen door bekrompen, preutse, calvinistische mensen, die hun sadistische gevoelens van walging en afkeer om probeerden te zetten in een tegen het kinderlijke, ruimtescheppende spel gerichte eendimensionale moraalleer.

In 1905 werd Huizinga hoogleraar geschiedenis in Groningen en in 1915 hoogleraar algemene geschiedenis en politische aardrijkskunde te Leiden. Als hoogleraar bleef hij in functie tot de Duitse bezetter de Leidse universiteit in 1941 sloot. Van augustus tot oktober 1942 werd hij als gijzelaar vastgehouden in Sint-Michielsgestel. Top Scientist Gives Backing to Astrology

The planets may control your future after all. A renowned astronomer has broken with scientific orthodoxy to claim that astrology could have some basis in fact. Long dismissed as little better than fortune telling, astrology has been attacked as a pseudo-science by the Royal Astronomical Society. But one of its members, Dr Percy Seymour, has reopened the debate with a provocative book claiming movements of the sun, stars and planets can influence the brains of unborn children in measurable ways.
Seymour is a former principal lecturer in astronomy and astrophysics at Plymouth University who has been a researcher at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich. While stressing he has no time for star-sign horoscopes, he does believe human brain development may be affected by the Earth s magnetic field, especially during growth in the womb.
In his book, The Scientific Proof of Astrology, he suggests that the Earth s magnetic field is affected by interactions with those of the sun and the moon. Other planets such as Jupiter, Mars and Venus also play a part because their magnetic fields affect solar magnetism. Seymour said: It means the whole solar system is playing a symphony on the Earth s magnetic field. We are all genetically tuned to receive a different set of melodies from this symphony.
His claims will infuriate other astronomers. They have suffered the humiliation of seeing astrology rising in popularity with top astrologers earnings surging beyond those of even the most eminent of researchers. Until now they have at least had the comfort of being able to dismiss any suggestion of scientific support for the idea that people s lives and personalities are influenced by the planets.
Among the most outspoken figures against astrology are Sir Martin Rees, the astronomer royal, and Professor Stephen Hawking. Rees has described astrology as absurd , adding: There is no place for astrology in our scientific view of the world; moreover its predictive claims cannot stand any critical scrutiny.
However, Seymour s theories won qualified support from an unexpected source. Richard Dawkins, professor for the public understanding of science at Oxford University, who once suggested that astrologers be prosecuted under the trades descriptions act, said that although he had not read the book Seymour s ideas sounded interesting. Babylon & de Zachte Krachten

In heidense geloven komen we overal een Maria-figuur met kindje Jezus tegen. Rome kende Venus met haar Aeneas, Egypte kende Isis en Horus, de Dru den (Keltische) kenden Virgo-Paritura en haar kind, enz. Schrijver Bach zegt in zijn boek Strange Sects & Curious Cults dat ongeacht naam of plaats al die moedergodinnen de gemalin van Ba l waren (de gestorven Nimrod in weer- en zonnegod). Al die moedergodinnen zijn synoniemen van Semiramis, zij die dit allemaal verzonnen heeft. Zij die be nvloed werd door satan.
Heidenen moesten ook tot het Christendom bekeren. Wat is nog makkelijker door mensen te vertellen dat bijvoorbeeld Isis Maria is en Horus zou Jezus zijn? De toenmalige kerk stond toe moeder gods te blijven vereren onder een nieuwe naam. Geen wonder dat vele heidenen zich aangetrokken voelden tot het toenmalige Christendom: de RKK. Weinig rooms-katholieken zich zullen herkennen is het heidens-satanische beeld dat hierboven wordt geschetst, omdat de Paus van Rome niks van heidenen moet hebben en zich op een uiterst keurige wijze 'Heilige Vader' laat noemen: de ontkenning dus van het verwijfde Babylon, dat door het Ezra-isme (= aan zinloze wetgeving gebonden patriarchale priestercultuur) gezien werd als het summum van tegen het fatsoen gericht barbarendom.
Maar ook al is het instituut kerk een uiterst fatsoenlijk, anti-Babylonisch herenbolwerk geworden, toch blijft het feit bestaan dat de Babylonische Moeder-Kind verering (de astrologische verwijzing naar de Moederplaneet Maan en de aan rechtvaardigheid gekoppelde planeet Jupiter), alleen binnen die joods-christelijke religie een tijd lang een belangrijke plaats heeft ingenomen.
Momenteel horen we er weinig meer over. De rooms-katholieken durven de eigen symbolen niet langer serieus te nemen, zijn in de jaren zeventig net als alle anderen calvinistisch (lees: volwassen) geworden en zullen er dus niet over peinzen, zoals dat wel in de jaren vijftig het geval was, op een kinderlijke wijze romantisch-idyllische afbeeldingen van Moeders met kinderen te verspreiden. Hoewel het toch echt zo is, dat de Moeder en het Kind bij uitstek de symbolen zijn van wat Theo van Gogh en Henriette Roland Holst 'de zachte krachten' noemen...

Saudi Arabia Slams US Sanctions Against Syria

JEDDAH, 18 May 2004 Saudi Arabia yesterday lambasted US sanctions against Syria, saying they would only escalate tension in the Middle East and increase feelings of injustice among Arabs.
Instead, the weekly Cabinet meeting, chaired by Crownprince Abdullah, emphasized the need for international sanctions on Israel over its continuous violations of UN Security Council resolution.
President George W. Bush banned all US exports to Syria other than food or medicine last week, accusing Damascus of supporting terrorism, pursuing weapons of mass destruction and failing to stop anti-US militants crossing into Iraq.
Arab anger was exacerbated because the US action coincided with Israel s continued aggressions on unarmed Palestinian people and its violations of international law, which necessitates the imposition of sanctions on it, the Saudi Press Agency quoted Al-Farsy as saying. (Arab News 17-5-2004)

Syrie 19-5-2004: Vice-President Abdul Halim Khaddam on Monday received an Iraqi delegation representing a number of Rectors and Deans of Iraqi Universities.
The Iraqi delegation spoke about the suffering of the Iraqi people under occupation, asserting determination to restore independence and sovereignty. The vice-President reiterated Syria s support to the Iraqi people to overcome their plight. (Syria Live 19-5-2004)
Hoewel Amerika kapitalisten, communisten en theocraten in Irak naar voren schuift, omdat Amerikaans-Israelische macht nu eenmaal is gebouwd op Geld (kapitaal), Macht (collectivisering) en God (theocratie), blijft het feit bestaan dat Saddam Hussein bijzonder veel aandacht heeft besteed aan het onderwijs in zijn land, gewoon, vanuit de liberaal-seculiere opvatting dat wetenschap boven geloof moet worden geplaatst. Dat monsterbeeld, dat ondanks de gedeeltelijke realiteit ervan grotendeels fictie, want zelfgeschapen illusie, is staat niet in dienst van het liberale, Babelonische denken, waarnaar de term 'Baath' verwijst. Met de blinde demonisering van Saddam Hussein ontkennen wij dan ook de moderniteitsgedachte en kiezen we voor de irrationele, verdelende wereld van het Geld, de Macht en de sadistische, ontvrouwelijkte Vadergod, die niet in staat is terug te keren naar de Babelonische eenheidsgedachte waarvan hij een klein onderdeel is.
Morele Intimidatie
Condoleezza Rice, veiligheidsadviseur van George W. Bush, een merkwaardige haaiebaai die Amerikanen een door en door onveilig Irak heeft opgedrongen (hetgeen tot ontslag zou moeten leiden wanneer we er van uitgaan dat een veiligheidsadviseur niet de onveiligheid mag dienen), probeert momenteel de wereld via morele initimidatie duidelijk te maken dat wij 'Amerika' moeten steunen 'omdat Amerika in een ver verleden tegen de nazi's gevochten heeft', een belachelijke daad, omdat in een democratie niet gesproken mag worden van 'Amerika' (welk Amerika? is er geen alternatief Amerika? mogen er wel alternatieven bestaan?), terwijl het bovendien zo is dat moraal in een Westerse vrijheidswereld nooit in dienst mag staan van intimidatie, geestelijke terreur en irrationele processen van heiligverklaring die onafhankelijke, democratische besluitvorming onmogelijk maken. Israeli gunship open fire on Palestinian demonstration

Ten Palestinians were killed and around 40 wounded Wednesday when an Israeli helicopter opened fired on a demonstration against the biggest ever army operation in the Gaza Strip, medical sources and witnesses said. The attack happened in the Tal Al-Sultan neighbourhood of Rafah's refugee camp which has been the scene of the bloodiest clashes since Tuesday morning's start of Operation Rainbow, which has now left 34 Palestinians dead.
The Palestinian leadership has accused the Israelis of conducting a "war of extermination" in Rafah while the UN Security Council is considering its response to events.
Israel came in for further international criticism Wednesday, with British Prime Minister Tony Blair calling the operation "unacceptable and wrong" while Moscow slammed what it called a "disproportionate use of force".
The Israeli military however insisted that its operations were justified in order to prevent weapons being smuggled to Palestinian militants from under the border with Egypt, claiming that a batch of anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles were waiting on the Egyptian side to be delivered.
Yossi Beilin, one of the chief architects of the Oslo peace accords and the leader of Israel's left-wing Yahad party, said the operation was doomed to failure. "There is no situation in the world in which the army will be able to resolve the conflict between us and the Palestinians, not from a military point of view and not from a political point of view," he said.
"It is completely unacceptable to continue baptising Gaza in blood because when Gaza is drenched in blood, it is also the blood of our children."
The latest deaths brought the overall toll since the September 2000 start of the Palestinian intifada to 4,064, including 3,075 Palestinians and 918 Israelis. (Middle East Online 19-5-2004)

Humanitarian Groups Hurt by "Axis of Evil"
Humanitarian groups like the UN refugee agency have been hurt by President George W. Bush's 'axis of evil' statement that divides the world into good and bad, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Ruud Lubbers said Tuesday.
The UNHCR and groups like the International Committee of the Red Cross "have been badly damaged by the demonization of others," said Lubbers, currently on a four-day visit to the United States.

Security Council calls on Israel
to stop demolition of Palestinian homes
19 May 2004 Concerned by the recent demolition of homes in the Rafah refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, the United Nations Security Council today called on Israel to respect its obligations under international humanitarian law and insisted on its obligation not to destroy homes contrary to that law.
The Council voted 14 in favour, with the United States abstaining, to adopt a resolution expressing its grave concern regarding the humanitarian situation of Palestinians made homeless in the Rafah area, and calling for the provision of emergency assistance. (UN News Centre)

Pentagon halts payments to Chalabi's INC group
WASHINGTON (AFP) - The Pentagon has halted its monthly payments of 340,000 dollars to Ahmed Chalabi's Iraqi National Congress group, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz said.
"That was a decision that was made in light of the process of transferring sovereignty to the Iraqi people. We felt it was no longer appropriate for us to continue funding in that fashion," Wolfowitz told a Senate hearing.
The final payment was made this month, Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said.
Chalabi has long been viewed with distrust by the CIA and the State Department, but was closely aligned with hawks in the Pentagon, which flew him and an INC militia into southern Iraq shortly after the US invasion of Iraq last year. (Yahoo-AP 20-5-2004)

Tehran Times, 21-5-2004: Iraq's interim Governing Council blamed the U.S.-led coalition Friday for U.S.-backed police raids a day earlier on the home and offices of Ahmed Chalabi, one of its leading members.
"The Governing Council unanimously condemned the raids on Mr. Chalabi's home and holds the coalition authorities responsible," said Samir al-Askari, deputy council representative for Shiite member Mohammed Bahr al-Ulum.
A senior official in the U.S.-led Coalition Provisional Authority said the raids were based on Iraqi charges including fraud. CBS television quoted unnamed U.S. officials alleging Chalabi had passed sensitive U.S. intelligence to Iran that could "get Americans killed".
The move aggravated political tensions in Iraq just six weeks before the U.S.-led administration hands over sovereignty on June 30, amid an Iraqi prisoner abuse scandal that has hurt American credibility throughout the Middle East.
The shape of the interim government is still not clear. Many Iraqis are suspicious of Governing Council members because they were appointed by the Americans. (Tehran Times)

Several things occurred to us, after hearing of the raid. The first thing I thought was, "Well, it's about time " Then, as the news began to sink in, it made less since. Chalabi was America's lapdog - why is he suddenly unsuitable for the new Iraq? He was convicted in Jordan several years ago and everyone knows he's a crook and a terrible politician I'm also convinced that the Bush administration knew full well that he was highly unpopular in Iraq. He's not just a puppet- he's a mercenary. He encouraged the sanctions that killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and maimed the country itself. He supported the war and occupation vehemently and fabricated lies about weapons and threats to further his cause. He's a criminal - and a lousy one at that.
In the end, America had to know that Chalabi was virtually useless. Why this sudden change of heart towards Mercenary #1? People are saying that it is a ploy to help him rise in popularity, but I can hardly believe that. Could the decision-makers currently mulling over the Iraq situation be so ridiculously optimistic? Or could they have really been so wrong in the past? We have a saying in Arabic, "En kint tedri, fe tilk musseeba in kint la tedri, fa il musseebatu a'adham", which means, "If you knew, then that was a catastrophe and if you didn't know, then the catastrophe is greater." Wanneer een Amerikaanse president voor de waanzin van de eeuwige, blinde wraakzucht kiest is er iets mis met onze wereld. Dan is het plicht van verlichte intellectuelen een protestgeluid te laten horen en dat protestgeluid dient dan in de eerste plaats gericht te zijn op de bron van de waanzin: het rechtse zionisme.
Het zionisme van Ariel Sharon is een doodgewone rancuneleer, die er vanuit gaat dat de eigen groep heilig is, zodat als gevolg daarvan iedereen die (om wat voor reden dan ook) de heiligen aanvalt - direct of indirect - het onvermijdelijke slachtoffer zal worden van de heilige wraak.
Met zo'n leer - waarin nooit vrede mogelijk is, omdat vrede altijd verzoening met oude vijanden impliceert - valt geen beschaafde wereld op te bouwen. Zo n leer is een racistische rancuneleer (racisme kent morele eigenschappen toe aan ras en volk) en het is ronduit schandalig dat geen enkele Westerse politicus de moed durft op te brengen die wraakzuchtige rassenleer openlijk te verwerpen (alleen oud-politici en andere rijke gepensioneerden durven hun mond open te doen ) .
Wie eerlijk is geeft toe dat je niet zomaar een groep mensen heilig kunt verklaren en daaraan de conclusie verbinden dat elke actie die tegen de heiligen is gericht 'kwaad' is.
Dat kun je doen als je lid bent van de een of andere duistere sekte, maar dat kun je zeer zeker niet doen wanneer je jezelf verdediger van de vrijheid' noemt.
Je bent niet vrij meer wanneer je jezelf tot pion maakt van de blinde wraakzucht. Dan ben je geen verdediger van de vrijheid meer, maar een verdediger van de maffia.
Maffiabazen vormen ook altijd een combinatie van heiligheid en wraakzucht. Voordat een maffiabaas besluit zijn tegenstanders genadeloos neer te knallen bidt hij eerst een weesgegroetje. En nadat hij met een vroom gezicht 'Amen' (het zij zo) heeft gezegd knalt hij zonder enige gewetenswroeging de slechte ander overhoop.
Slecht is elk individu dat het niet met hem eens is en die opvatting omzet in daadwerkelijk verzet (slaven worden niet bestraft). Wie in zijn eenvoudige vrome mensenwereld gaat zitten zeuren over 'objectieve moraal', die wordt met zijn voeten in een bakje vloeibaar beton geplaatst en vervolgens, na een uurtje berustingvol wachten om het beton te laten harden, in de plomp gedonderd - waar het praten over moraal al snel overgaat in het eeuwige zwijgen van de dood.
Objectieve moraal denkt na. Blinde moraal raaskalt en slaat blindelings om zich heen. Daarom proberen ontwikkelde samenlevingen via universitaire ontwikkelingsinstituten die mensen naar voren te schuiven die aangetoond hebben dat ze denken kunnen. Wie niet denken kan mag geen bestuurder worden...

Met name de uiterst rechtse pro-Zionist Charles Krauthammer verkondigt dergelijke inzichten. Tamelijk schijnheilig natuurlijk, zoals de gewezen Amerikaanse sergeant David DeBatto hieronder duidelijk maakt.
I am incensed that Rush Limbaugh and his supporters on the far right had the misguided sense to say that this was no different than any "fraternity prank." Since Mr. Limbaugh has an estimated audience of twenty million listeners, this remark only added gasoline to an already volatile worldwide debate and was very counterproductive. I have also heard others echo Mr. Limbaugh's sentiment and I am similarly disgusted. To me, Limbaugh's remarks are the height of hypocrisy.
When President Clinton was going through the scandal involving Monica Lewinsky, Limbaugh and others were indignant (and rightly so I believe) about the lack of morals and the incalculable damage that whole incident did to our nation's image and that of the presidency. How can anyone who felt that way about the disgraceful behavior of President Clinton with a consenting adult, not see the damage caused by the horrific behavior of the Abu Ghraib crowd? Trust me, I am no Clinton apologist, but I am sick and tired of partisan politics, especially in the military where it has no place to begin with.
This incident had its birth at or near the top, trust me. The fingerprints are all over it. This realization has been a long time coming for me and I do not come to it lightly or with any great satisfaction, but it appears to be true nonetheless. While some sadistic, low-life MPs played their roles as cast in this tragedy, the script was written at echelons way above them, or even above CENTCOM. It began with the decision to treat everyone scooped up after 9/11 as an "enemy combatant," thus depriving them of the rights accorded to prisoners of war under the Geneva Convention...
We were told that the detainees held there were the worst of the worst and only the most stringent of conditions and interrogation techniques would enable interrogators to obtain the intelligence necessary to break into the plans of Al Qaeda and thwart another attack on the United States.
Especially now that the Pentagon and the White House are in spin control overdrive, we must hold the investigators' feet to the fire, and that means the appropriate committees in congress, to investigate these allegations to their logical conclusion and trace the orders to their point of origin.
We have to find out who developed them, who approved them, who knew about them and who allowed them to be carried out. Everybody. I hate to say it, but they did not know what they were doing, and all Americans, in particular our military, are going to have to pay a steep price because of the misplaced trust we had in our leaders. Nevertheless, during the past few years hundreds of thousands of Israelis have outgathered themselves from the Zionist paradise, and American Jews have "voted with their feet" and have chosen not to be ingathered. These Jews recognize that the Zionist state is in fact nothing but a giant ghetto.
Instead of being able to render assistance to Jewish communities in other countries, American Jews have been mobilized to concentrate on helping the Zionist state, making the USA the real and major source of Zionist power and influence. The Zionists, true to the nature of their movement, rely on technical superiority and on a forbidding military deterrent - provided largely by the USA - for their security.
Nothing could be farther from the true ideals of the Jewish people. The Jewish people were chosen in the first place "for you are the leas of all nations." As the Psalm says, "they rely on vehicles and horsepower, but we invoke the name of the Eternal, our G-d."
One most vital point deserves mention. A former president of the World Zionist Organization has stated explicitly that a Zionist owes unqualified loyalty to the Zionist state and that, in the case of a conflict, the first loyalty of a Zionist must be to the Zionist state. According to Jewish law, however, a Jew owes allegiance and loyalty to the country of which he is a citizen, and, of course, no faithful Jews owes any loyalty or allegiance to the Zionist state which has been condemned by the foremost rabbis of our age.
It is not my purpose to detail how Zionism should be dealt with. Let me state, however, that isolated or spontaneous acts against individuals or the mere adoption of resolutions in the UN or elsewhere are not effective means of bringing an end to Zionism. Let me state also that the battle against Zionism must be waged first, not on the shores of the Mediterranean, but in Zionism's most powerful bastion -- the USA.
As an American citizen, I deplore that our government and our politicians have adopted an attitude that is in complete contradiction to the advice of the father of our country George Washington. Instead of shying away from foreign entanglements and permanent alliances with foreign powers, the establishment in Washington has embraced Zionism so wholeheartedly that in their eyes any criticism of the Zionist state and any opposition to political Zionism in the UN by any nation has become a punishable offense. And the docile American media do not dare to speak out against such an absurdity.
Unfortunately, thus far, each year sees still further gains in influence by American Zionists. This fact has made possible events and developments that were unthinkable even ten years ago. It takes a lot of courage to be opposed to Zionism in the USA today. It also took a lot of courage during the Second World War to be anti-Fascist in Italy or anti-Nazi in Germany.

In an interview with an Arab daily, U.S. President George W. Bush openly admitted that he would prevent the establishment of an Iranian-style Shia government in Iraq.
At the same time Jordanian King Abdullah II announced that Iraqi Governing Council member Ahmad Chalabi is not qualified to participate in the future Iraqi government because he is Shia. King Abdullah said that Iraq s next leader should be one of the military officers from the outlawed Iraqi Baath Party because he believes they are the only ones who can establish security in the country.
Apparently, the remarks are part of the efforts of a U.S.-Arab alliance which aims to prevent the Iraqi people from forming a democratic government.
A number of Arab countries are seriously concerned about the possibility of the establishment of a popular government in Iraq... This is the reason why certain Arab officials have made frequent visits to the White House to feed Bush Administration officials disinformation meant to frighten them about the alleged threat of the Iraqi Shia...
All these machinations have convinced U.S. administrator Paul Bremer to try to gradually remove all the Shia members of the Iraqi Governing Council and pave the way for the return to power of the Baathist criminals. However, despite these intrigues, prominent Iraqi Shia religious leaders and the Shia people of Iraq are closely monitoring developments in the country as well as the activities of White House officials and the Arab leaders allied with the U.S. And the Iraqi Shia will certainly respond in an appropriate manner at the right time. Iraanse conservatieven begrijpen nog altijd weinig van hun eigen geloof dat gecentreerd is rondom een Rechtvaardige Mahdi die (zoals Khomeini het in zijn redevoeringen stelt) politiek in dienst wil stellen van de onderdrukten en de rechtelozen: sociale of socialistische politiek dus.
Khomeini stelt uitdrukkelijk dat moslims geen apolitieke wezens mogen zijn. De Islam moet zichzelf realiseren in de werkelijkheid, zodat gekozen moet worden voor een religieuze opvoeding die politieke bewustwording centraal stelt, een welhaast links-democratisch verlangen waarop je heel goed het woordje 'Baath' (=verlichting) zou kunnen plakken.
De antidemocratische fout die Khomeini maakte was dat hij de politiek als het exclusieve bezit van de geestelijkheid beschouwde, een opvatting die het mogelijk maakte dat een socialistische partij die de verdediging van de belangen van onderdrukten en rechtelozen als belangrijk ervaart (de Baath-partij) werd afgeschilderd als een goddeloze partij. Niet omdat die partij de Islam en de rechtvaardigheid afwees, maar omdat die socialistische partij de dictatuur van de conservatieve clerus afwees.
Waar die conservatieve clerus de rechtvaardigheid zou moeten dienen, daar heeft zij een oneerlijke en leugenachtige manipulator - Chalabi - gesteund, een man die na de val van Saddam Hussein alles op alles zette het land in een toestand van chaos te brengen, daarbij gesteund door zowel rechtse zionisten als rechts-conservatieve sjiieten...
De vernietiging van alle ministeries, de ontbinding van het Irakese leger, de opheffing van een goed functionerende bestuurderspartij, het zijn allemaal zaken die nooit hadden mogen gebeuren, maar die in de ogen van extremisten nuttig waren. Rechtse zionisten willen het socialistische rechtvaardigheidsverlangen in mensen vernietigen (geloof in rechtvaardigheid slaat de fundamenten weg onder de op onrechtvaardigheid gebouwde zionistische staat), terwijl conservatieve theocraten het secularisme een genadeslag willen toedienen, een vreemd verlangen, dat er vanuit gaat dat seculiere eenheidsbewegingen als socialisme en liberalisme geen rechtvaardige politieke bewegingen kunnen zijn - een onjuiste aanname omdat socialisme en liberalisme (wanneer ze gebroederlijk samengaan) geen enkele bedreiging vormen voor de bevolking van Irak, zodat het vanuit het oogpunt van sociale rechtvaardigheid onzinnig is dergelijke bewegingen anti-islamitisch te noemen.
Niet het secularisme moet bestreden worden, maar de onrechtvaardigheid : het onrechtvaardige zionisme, het onrechtvaardige socialisme, het onrechtvaardige liberalisme , en natuurlijk ook het onrechtvaardige sjiisme...
Wat dat betreft past het de Ayatollah's dankbaarheid te tonen nu de sjiiet Chalabi, die door de bevolking van Irak als het symbool van de onrechtvaardigheid werd beschouwd, van zijn troon gestoten is...

Balkenende: geen eigen lijn D66-ministers
HILVERSUM - Premier Balkenende wil niet dat de D66-ministers De Graaf en Brinkhorst afstand nemen van een kabinetsbesluit over het verlengen van de missie in Irak. Een optie waarbij de D66-ministers laten aantekenen dat ze het niet met de rest van het kabinet eens zijn - als mogelijkheid gesuggereerd door D66-leider Dittrich - is volgens Balkenende "geen begaanbare weg". De premier zei dat zaterdagavond voor de EO-televisie (Andries Knevel).
Balkenende zei dat het kabinet ernaar streeft alle partijen in de coalitie te overtuigen. Vooral bij de fractie van D66 leven grote aarzelingen over verlenging van de missie.
Balkenende verwees naar de Tweede Wereldoorlog. "Wat als Canada en de Verenigde Staten toen hadden gezegd: het is ons te gevaarlijk. Waar waren wij nu dan geweest?" (Nederlands Dagblad 23-5-2004)

Het failliet van het linkse liberalisme
Christelijke politiek zou waarheidlievende politiek moeten zijn, een principi le veroordeling van alles wat leugenachtig, hypocriet en verslaafd aan materialisme is.
Ik ben er een die ogen in zijn hoofd heeft. Ik lees een boek, weet wat er staat en handel er naar. Zo een is onze minister-president niet. Wanneer ik mezelf 'de teruggekeerde Christus' noem, dan beoordeelt hij die uitspraak niet als navolger van Christus, maar als orthodox gelovige en als vriend van Andries Knevel van de EO.
Ik heb de naam 'KNEVEL" altijd bijzonder passend gevonden, een teken aan de wand, een hint van God om ons te waarschuwen tegen de gevaren van al diegenen die Zijn naam zeggen te eren, terwijl ze doodgewone leugenaars en huichelaars zijn.
Iemand knevelen, dat is een uitdrukking die een gewoon mens die er gewone mensengevoelens op na houdt, koude rillingen bezorgt. Je denkt aan een koud straaltje water dat iemand over je rug laat glijden. Je begint te huiveren. Het water zoekt zich een weg naar beneden, bereikt het topje van de bilnaad, aarzelt om verder te gaan, geheimen, intimidatie..., gaat verder en grijpt zich met zijn koude, klamme handen vast aan je meest geheime delen. Koud. Overweldigd. Gekneveld...
Alles wat met knevelen en knevels te maken heeft stoot me als waarlijk anarchistisch schrijver af. Daarom begrijp ik niet dat iemand die 'Knevel' heet zijn naam niet verandert. Het is een door en door onchristelijke naam, wanneer je er tenminste van uitgaat dat Jezus een ont-knevelaar was, een verlosser, of een bevrijder...
Andries Knevel (even ter toelichting) is directeur en presentator van de EO. Op zijn negentiende jaar, tijdens zijn studie aan de Vrije Universiteit van Amsterdam, zag hij het Licht:
"Ik voelde een enorme druk. Het was een zeer hevige confrontatie. Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat God mensen hoogstpersoonlijk kan ontmoeten en op dat moment voelde ik dat zo."
Andries Knevel stopte met zijn studie economie, ging theologie studeren en trad op zijn zesentwintigste bij de EO in dienst, alwaar hij het als zijn taak ziet het christelijke geloof uit te dragen.
"Geloof en christendom", zo stelt hij, "staan voor mij gelijk aan verzoening. Natuurlijk voel ik mij weleens machteloos over het onrecht in de wereld, maar ik ben er mee opgehouden God met mijn ratio te verklaren. Dat is een heilloze weg."

Gered worden door een 'Heer' die zichzelf 'Christus' noemt is een bezigheid die van alle tijden is. Wie mensen wijs gaat maken dat er maar n heer en n Christus is, die dan ook nog eens tot bezit en persoonlijk eigendom wordt gemaakt van mensen die onder enorme druk gelovig zijn geworden (gekneveld dus..), die kan zichzelf elke benaming toekennen - in ons land zelfs 'links liberaal' - maar toch echt niet 'christelijk', omdat het woordje christelijk in de eerste plaats een onzinwoord is, je bent of niks of je bent Christus, terwijl het in de tweede plaats een geestdodend woord is, omdat het van mensen eist dat ze gaan geloven in iemand met wie geen geestelijk contact meer mogelijk is, omdat de betrokkene dood is en omdat zijn woorden in beslag zijn genomen door anderen die geen Christussen of waarheidlievende geesten zijn.
Al met al doodgewone lariekoek dus en ronduit beschamend, omdat een man die 'Heer' en 'Christus' is - ik dus, de samensteller van deze website, een Saturnaal denker (Saturnus is in de astrologie de Herenplaneet) die op grond van de kennis van het evangelie zichzelf een 'wetend mens' noemt: Christus = de weter, de bezitter van de waarheid (dus niet van het geloof) - doodgewoon wordt genegeerd en wordt behandeld als iemand die in de wereld van de goede gelovigen niet kan en mag bestaan.
Linkse liberalen zouden dat geloofsdenken af moeten wijzen. Zij zouden tegenover het geloof het weten en de waarheid moeten plaatsen. Maar dat doen zij niet. De links-liberale staatssecretaris van cultuur noemt zichzelf weliswaar een 'gnostisch denker', maar welke denkprocessen de gnosis in haar brein oproept weet ik niet. In ieder geval niet de gedachten die in mijn gnostische hersenen opwellen...
Waarmee ik eigenlijk alleen maar wil zeggen dat ik het tijd vind worden dat wij als keurig nette religieuze en liberale mensen Andries Knevel de dwingende plicht opleggen zijn naam te veranderen. Wie God zegt te dienen moet (dus niet mag) Zijn naam aanbidden. Dus niet de naam van de antichrist: de Grote Knevelaar!

Voorstel voor een nieuwe Irak-VN Resolutie
Vrijheid is een wankel gegeven in een land waarin de feitelijke macht in handen wordt gegeven van een politiemacht die wordt gecontroleerd door een buitenlandse machtsinstantie, een instituut dat niet alleen alle militaire macht in handen heeft maar dat ook het recht opeist een 'nationaal' veiligheidsnet op te bouwen dat bestaat uit die mensen die bereid zijn de bevelen van de buitenlandse machthebbers uit te voeren. Het is een situatie die doet denken aan het Iran van de Shah, waar Amerikanen en Israeli's een onderdrukkingssysteem opbouwden dat maar een doel had: alle kritiek op Amerika en Israel te onderdrukken. Het is juist dat onderdrukkingssysteem geweest dat de bevolking rijp heeft gemaakt voor het gedachtegoed van Khomeini, een man die de bevolking drie kernwaarden bood: Islam, Sociale rechtvaardigheid en de absolute weigering je neer te leggen bij de overheersing van een als vijand beschouwde macht.
De nieuwe VN-resolutie, die het beeld wil oproepen van een bezettingsleger dat er alleen maar is om de VN te helpen te helpen en te beschermen (art. 6), houdt geen rekening met het feit dat de aanwezigheid van buitenlandse troepen verzet oproept (80 procent van de bevolking eist de terugkeer van een eigen leger en roept daarmee de buitenlandse macht uit tot bezettingsleger) en is daarmee een vrijbrief voor willekeur. Zodra de bevolking zich daadwerkelijk verzet tegen de aanwezigheid van buitenlandse troepen (een recht dat is vastgelegd in het Handvest van de VN) kunnen ze onmiddellijk tot 'terrorist' worden uitgeroepen. De resolutie geeft namelijk de bezettende macht het recht iedereen die volgens de eigen subjectieve regels als gevaarlijk wordt beschouwd - gevaarlijk niet opgevat dus als een gevaar voor de Irakese samenleving - te elimineren. Hoewel wordt erkend dat de opbouw van een eigen politiemacht belangrijk is (artikel 10), wordt de nadruk gelegd op 'terreurbestrijding' (artikel 11). Het artikel waarin 'de terreur' (een uiterst vaag gehouden begrip: 'all acts of terror') wordt veroordeeld is een bijzonder gevaarlijk artikel omdat daarmee elke staat en elke individuele persoon die een mogelijk gewapend verzet van de Irakese bevolking tegen buitenlandse overheersing op enigerlei wijze steunt tot internationale outcast (lees: terroristische entiteit) kan worden uitgeroepen: een juridische wanconstructie dus, die het gevolg is van het simpele feit dat een rechtvaardig rechtssysteem (militaire macht in dienst van een onafhankelijke rechtsinstantie) wordt afgewezen. Het welslagen van de hele onderneming wordt afhankelijk gemaakt van de goede bedoelingen van mensen die in het verleden hebben bewezen niet bijzonder betrouwbaar te zijn. Dat kan van een constructie die objectief gezien niet slecht is een inhoudsloos document maken voor diegenen die zichzelf beschouwen als 'slachtoffers van de Amerikaans-Israelische onrechtvaardigheid'.
Ontwerpresolutie 23-5-2004: The Security Council, Recalling its previous relevant resolutions on Iraq, in particular resolutions 1483 (2003) and 1511 (2003),
6. Reaffirms the authorization for the multinational force under unified command established under resolution 1511 (2003) and having regard to the letter referred to in preambular paragraph 10 above, decides that the multinational force shall have authority to take all necessary measures to contribute to the maintenance of security and stability in Iraq including by preventing and deterring terrorism, so that inter alia the United Nations can fulfill its role in assisting the Iraqi people as outlined in paragraph five above and the Iraqi people can implement freely and without intimidation the timetable and program for the political process and benefit from reconstruction and rehabilitation activities, and decide further that the mandate for the multinational force shall be reviewed 12 months from the date of this resolution or at the request of the Transitional Government of Iraq;
8. Recognizes that the multinational force will also assist in building the capability of the Iraqi security forces and institutions, through a program of recruitment, training, equipping, mentoring and monitoring, to enable the Iraqi forces progressively to play a greater role in creating condition of security and stability in Iraq and welcomes in that regard the arrangements that are being put in place to establish a partnership between multinational force and the sovereign Interim Government of Iraq and to ensure coordination between the two;
10. Emphasizes the importance of developing effective Iraqi police, border, enforcement and Facilities Protection Service for the maintenance of law, order and security, including combating terrorism and requests Member States and international organizations to assist the Interim Government of Iraq in building the capability of these Iraqi institutions;
11. Condemns all acts of terrorism in Iraq, and decides that in accordance with their obligations under resolutions 1373 (2001), 1267 (1999), 1333 (2000), 1390 (2002), 1455 (2003) and 1526 (2004) and with other relevant international obligations, all States shall take immediate and necessary steps, inter alia, to freeze funds and other financial assets or economic resources of relevant individuals and entities, to prevent the entry into or transit through their terrorists of relevant individuals, to prevent the entry into or transit through their territories of relevant individuals, to prevent the direct or indirect supply, sale or transfer of arms and related material to relevant individuals and entities, to prevent individuals and entities from using their respective territories for the purpose of financing, planning, facilitating or committing terrorist acts against Iraq or its citizens and to ensure that such individuals are brought to justice... Baathists Attempting a Comeback in Iraq
Iran behoort bij diegenen die volgens het hierboven afgedrukte 'antiterreurartikel 11' op de zwarte lijst kan worden geplaatst. Iran huldigt de opvatting dat de sjiieten een ongedifferentieerd eenheidsblok vormen dat als zodanig het recht heeft een Islamitische eenheidsstaat op te bouwen, waarin de aard van het begrip 'eenheid' op een subjectieve wijze wordt bepaald door de clerus, een dictatuur van de meerderheid dus waarin buitenbeentjes altijd tweederangsfiguren zullen zijn en daarmee een verwerpelijker vorm van dictatuur dan de dictatuur van Saddam Hussein, die in feite een antidictatuur was: een poging de dictatuur van de streng-religieuze meerderheid te voorkomen.
Wie bekijkt welke figuren grote invloed hadden op Saddam Hussein ontdekt twee mensen die niet behoorden tot de Soenitische minderheid: Tariq Aziz, een christen die bewondering had voor het Europese socialisme, en Amer al-Saadi, een in Engeland gevormde Sjiiet ('extremely intelligent, professional and mild-mannered', AP-12-3-2003), die in alle opzichten het tegendeel was van het barbaarse gezicht dat het Israelisch-Sjiitische propaganda-apparaat rondom Saddam Hussein heeft opgebouwd. Saddam, met andere woorden was geen vijand van 'de sjiieten', maar van de theocratie en het zionisme. Wanneer de sjiieten de opdracht die Khomeini hen heeft gegeven: het bestrijden van het zionistische imperialisme en het nastreven van sociale rechtvaardigheid, serieus zouden hebben genomen, dan zouden ze massaal lid zijn geworden van de naar Arabische eenheid strevende Baath-partij. Dan hadden ze op democratische wijze de eenheid bereikt waar ze nu naar zeggen te streven. Het feit dat ze de enigszins decadent ogende Saddam Hussein niet als leider wilden accepteren, maar wel de duistere, anti-Babylonische calvinist Khomeini bewijst dat het rechtvaardigheidsverlangen niet was en is gebaseerd op nuchter, pragmatisch en logisch nadenken, een intellectuele tekortkoming die nu al tientallen jaren lang alleen maar het rechtse extremisme in de kaart speelt. In de Teheran Times wordt ditmaal de linkse liberaal Adnan Pachachi (die ik persoonlijk als het meest sympathieke lid van de bestuursraad beschouw) aangevallen, omdat hij net als Saddam de vijand van 'de sjiitische eenheidsstaat' zou zijn.
Tehran Times, 25-5-2004: Even though the majority of the Iraqi people hope to regain their rights and to play a role in determining the fate of their country after the long years of suppression, some members of the Iraqi Governing Council, with the support of the United States and certain Arab states, are making strenuous efforts to sideline the Iraqi majority.
The following evidence shows that there is a plot to sideline the majority of the Iraqi people:
(1) The newly appointed Iraqi interior minister, Samir Shakir Mahmoud Sumaidy, immediately ordered the dismissal of dozens of personnel who held key posts in the Interior Ministry, including two deputy ministers who were Shia. He then hired former members of Saddam Hussein s dreaded security and intelligence services.
(2) Major General Mohammad Abdullah al-Shahwani, the head of the Iraqi intelligence agency, has begun appointing former members of Saddam s secret police to security and intelligence posts. (3) Adnan Pachachi, an influential member of the Iraqi provisional government, Sumaidy, and Shahwani, who had a close relationship with Saddam until he was dismissed and defected to the West and who is known for his tribal inclinations, have formed a troika with the goal of preventing Shia from being appointed to key posts.
These officials are trying to implement a coordinated plan to guarantee that the majority never gain control of Iraq s security and intelligence services.
This is the reason why the U.S.-favored Pachachi is insisting that he be allowed to oversee the process of hiring security and intelligence personnel. (Tehran Times)
